Clare
Roots Meeting, 29th March
The next meeting of the Clare Roots Society Family History Group
takes place on Thursday March 29 at 8pm in the County Museum building,
Ennis.
Paddy Waldron will share his experiences of tracing
family roots in his talk, Don't believe everything you're told:
researching the O'Hallorans of Sixmilebridge.
Paddy will display manuscripts giving family history as written
by six generations of his family. He will explain how, in some cases,
archival research confirmed or refuted different parts of this history
and, in other cases, the manuscript evidence filled gaps in the
official records. Finally, he will address the question as to whether
or not the Sixmilebridge O'Hallorans are descended from the better-documented
family of Thady O'Halloran (1727-1798) of Ballycunneen. All are
welcome. |
